So the time has finally come, McLaren are ready to unveil the P1 GTR in “production” form at the Geneva motor show. As we all know this is the Track only version of the impressive P1 Road car, powered by the same Hybrid power plant, but this time the twin-turbo V8 plus electric system create 986bhp 83bhp more than standard. The reworked aero, has kept some of the active elements but also some has been replaced, including the rear wing that is now fixed and sits at 400mm.
The new aero creates 660KG of downforce at 150mph a 10% increase over the road car, while retaining the DRS system to reduce drag in a straight line. The GTR has also been on a diet too, 50KG has been knocked of the kerb weight which is down to 1440kg and all of the new details are wrapped up the slick tyres that wrap the 19inch centre lock wheels. So the lucky few peopel that have been able to buy this amazing car, they are in for a real treat it seems, plus they also join the McLaren P1 Driver Programme, which is similar to Ferrari’s XX programme.
