Trackside: FIA WEC 6 Hours of Silverstone 2017

Over the Easter bank holiday the FIA World Endurance Championship returned for the 2017 season. Round 1 was at Silverstone as per usual, and we were there to see the action trackside. With Audi gone, it’s a straight fight between Porsche and Toyota this year and it looks like it will be a good one.

The new LMP2 cars impressed, first they sound amazing with there Gibson V8’s and second look the part, with some good close racing while the speeds are up. GTE is shaping up to be a good class, but it would seem the BOP is a little out as Aston Martin Racing seem to have been limited a little too much compared the Ford’s, Ferraris’s and new Porsche’s.

As always the racing was close, and the fights in both LMP1 and GTE AM came down to the final 15 minutes of a 6 hour race. Have a watch of the trackside video, check out the gallery below, and watch out for out Trackside post for the British GT championship.
