For our second year in a row, we headed to the Goodwood Festival of Speed with Luke from 412 Automotive last month. Last year’s weather was perfect, but this time around, we were dealing with a heatwave. Even with the high temps, we made the most of it and checked out loads of iconic motorsport and road cars—both parked up for display and charging up the hill.
The festival paid tribute to Gordon Murray, the legendary designer behind the McLaren F1, who now has his own company and recently launched the V12 T.50. The celebration also lined up with Formula 1’s 75th anniversary, so there was a seriously impressive mix of classic and modern F1 cars. We saw Le Mans racers, too—including the noisiest ones from the FIA WEC Grid—with Cadillac and Aston Martin showing off their Hypercars on the hill. Other cool moments: Colin McRae’s Subarus tearing up the rally course, drift demos, touring cars, and all sorts of other machines.
Once again, the Festival of Speed was awesome. If you want to take it all in, it’s definitely worth spending two days there.
