BMW M4 GT4
BMW Motorsport has finally unveiled the final version of the M4 GT4 that we posted about last year. They have been testing the car since the beginning of the year, in private and in events such as the Dubai 24 Hours, and VLN races at the Nürburgring. Now though they are going to put it through its hardest challenge yet, the Nürburgring 24 Hours which is taking place this weekend. Apart from also unveiling the final specs of the M4 GT4, the order books have also been opened. So what will you get for your 169,000 Euros (Excluding VAT of course)?
Well as you can see from the images, the M4 has undergone the knife and had its interior ripped out… It is a race car after all. BMW Motorsport has also adorned it in some very functional aero items, which include a front splitter, dive planes and a generously big rear wing. Under then bonnet is the road car’s S55B30 twin turbo engine making around 431BHP depending on BOP. BMW have also made the engine control system truly plug and play, as they offer power sticks with pre programmed maps in for different championships BoP. The Brakes are taken straight from the M3 GT3 as is the seat and pedal box.
The interior is heavily driver focused, with all instruments and buttons with-in arms reach of a driver strapped into the drivers seat. The Steering wheel is one of the new breed of wheels, where they use a bespoke carbon design like a single seater over a more traditional round wheel. As for the gearbox, that’s still the road cars impressive 7 – speed DCT but with motorsport software for a fast gear change.
From what has been said and seen from the new GT4 car, I would imagine it will be a winner in its class within no time. So here hoping there N24 assault goes well, and I hope to see one racing soon.
