Saturday 13 October PLR were out with DFR and our shared customer doing the 2012 Mini Tour. We were running the Porsche 911 we had been testing in the week before and this was only the cars second event this year. We were doing a mixture of Rally, Race and an Auto test in the single day event. The event started and finished at Silverstone circuit with some stages and the race taking place at the circuit, other stages and the auto test were taking place in the surrounding area.
In the morning we were out at Stoneleigh for stages 1 & 2, on the second run though the car developed a problem and stopped mid stage, it was a great way to start the day. The car had lost a live signal to the distributer which was caused by a wire becoming brittle with age and breaking in the loom, a problem that was unavoidable. But the problem was found and sorted within 20 minutes and the car back up and running but it meant that stages 3&4 had been missed, so we headed to Gaydon for the Auto test. After that it was to the Race at Silverstone where our customer qualified 7th and finished in the same position in a mixed weather race. We finished the day with 2 stages at Bicester (Arncott) MOD, a stage at Becketts corner at Silverstone and a stage on the Stowe Circuit at Silverstone as well. He finished 12/15 which is a poor result which all stemmed from the incident on stage 2 in the morning.
