PLR were back out with DFR Motorsport providing support for are customer with his 1976 Porsche 911 Carrera GT on Tour Britannia. The event started on the evening of Wednesday 13th June and would finish on Friday 15th June. We were based up in Harrogate at Rudding Park and were using this as the event base. Thursday saw 2 evening stages only of half a mile just to get things warmed up with are customer taking things easy.
Thursday saw 4 stages in the morning, which saw are customer moving up the leader board into the top 10 setting competitive times on each stage. Then we moved onto the first Race of the event at Croft Circuit, Starting 4th and moving up to 3rd and remaining there the whole race saw yet move improvement up the leader board. But on the road section in between Croft and the next Competitive stage section it was apparent a problem had developed in the gearbox when at Croft, before the stage section started we had a chance to go over the car and it was determined that the Bearing on the 2 Piece input shaft had collapsed making getting 3rd and 4th gear very difficult so to not risk causing any more damage it was decided that we would retire the car from the event and investigate the problem more.
In the mean time we will be doing 2 more events this month, one this weekend and one at the end of the month.
