PLR were at our final event of the year this past Saturday 3 Nov. We were running the Porsche 911 RSR for one of our customers in the HSCC 20 lap support race of the Walter Hayes Trophy. The weekend started of wet and cold, with it drying up in the afternoon but staying cold. Practice went well with the setup changes that had been made to the car improving the handling round the Silverstone National circuit.
Qualifying was Wet on Saturday Morning, in which our customer qualified mid-pack 11th in a grid of 20+. The race was held in dry but cold conditions, on the start he moved up to 7th but there was an incident on the start/finish involving a Lola and a Cortina causing a re-start. No one was hurt but the Lola was in a bad state, again at the re-start our customer got of the line well and was up to 4th. On lap 15 we were surprised to see the 911 rolling up the pit-lane, with a suspected puncture which turned out to be not the case. Sent on his way our customer finished the race with a chevron storming to the win. Not the best way to finish our season, but we will be back out next year. In the mean time we will have more build updates and other things going on.
