Following on from first post about the Cupra, we have started stripping the car for the modifications to be carried out. We estimate the car will be off the road for 3 months due to the project only being done in our spare time. Below you will find some of the work that has been carried out and what has already been done.
Fitted are a set of TA Technix Coilovers with a drop of 70mm from standard, the assister springs will be removed at a future date. The brembo calipers have been removed to be overhauled and get a fresh coat of paint. The discs are 323mm EBC drilled and groved discs with Mintex pads fitted.
The standard Cupra R rims are to be sent away for refurb and powered coating, the colour is still to be decided either graphite grey or anthrax.
The front bumper and bonnet were removed to be sent away for a re-spray, and for the fitment of a Front Mount Intercooler.
The bumper will have the number plate mount deleted for a custom front grill to show of the Front Mount Intercooler.
The standard twin intercooler setup has been removed to make way for the Front Mount.
All the Intercooler pipe work has been removed, while the cam cover and inlet manifold are still to be removed to be powder coated black.
All the Intercooler pipe work is to be replaced with a custom setup by PWS Fabrication Services.
All the interior was removed due to the cupra springing a leak, this was later diagnosed to be the drives door seal and has been replaced already.
The List!
The PLR Motorsport mascot was out and about helping get in the way like always.
Could this be the next project??? Further updates on progress will be coming shortly.
