The latest British GT round delivered a bit of everything, with changing weather, some seriously close racing and plenty of drama across both GT3 and GT4. The wet-to-dry conditions made for a challenging two-hour race.
Donington Park delivered plenty of drama as the British GT Championship headed into the final stages of the season. Barwell Motorsport’s #63 Lamborghini came away with a huge result, as they took their second GT3 victory of the season in a tricky two-hour race that started wet before drying out. The result puts the Barwell car firmly in the title hunt, with their Lamborghini now holding a 15.5-point advantage over team-mates heading to Brands Hatch. A retirement for the championship-leading Optimum Motorsport #77 Mclaren just before the pitstops also played a major part in changing the title picture.
It wasn’t just the GT3 fight that provided the excitement, with Paddock Motorsport #84 Mclaren celebrating its first overall GT4 victory. The team’s decision to stay on wet-weather tyres while much of the field switched to slicks eventually paid off, giving them a memorable lights-to-flag win. Century Motorsport #24 BMW finished second after a late penalty for MK Racing #21 Aston Martin, leaving the top two crews level on points in the GT4 championship.
Elsewhere, 2 Seas Motorsport #18 and #15 Mercedes completed the overall GT3 podium, while Grange Racing by FSR #27 Aston Martin became the first champions of 2026 with their fifth GT4 Pro-Am win of the season.
