British GT rolled back onto the scene for the 2025 season last weekend, and we were there soaking it all in! First race of the year was at Donington Park this time around, a bit of a switch-up from the usual Oulton Park opener. And the weather, we couldn’t ask for anything better in April. Think clear blue skies, not a single cloud, and plenty of sun.
In GT3, 2 Seas absolutely smashed it with their Mercedes AMGs, grabbing first and third place. Barwell managed to bag second spot with their Lamborghini Evo 2 a few more laps and it would have been first. Bit of a nightmare start for Blackthorn’s Aston though – they got caught up in a scrap with one of the Lotus GT4 cars and ended up miles behind. Meanwhile, Beechdean’s Vantage GT3 took the win in the Silver/Am category, with the brand-new Honda NSX GT3 from Bridger Motorsport making its British GT debut right behind them.
Over in the GT4 category, Optimum Motorsport dominated with their McLaren Artura GT4. It was a weekend to forget for Mahiki Racing’s Lotus squad though, with two out of their three cars having to retire early.
Next up is Silverstone 500 for us at the end of the month.
