Trackside: British GT Oulton Park 2024
In typical British Bank Holiday fashion, the opening rounds of the British GT were a bit of a wet one. However, that didn’t stop the Lamborghini’s of Barwell Motorsport from dominating the weekend in GT3. GT4 was a little more open, but it was the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Evo’s of Forsetti that were shining with two podium runs.
Although hard racing was going on up and down the field in both races 1 and 2. The safety car and orange army were busy with plenty of off-track incidents. Especially at turn 1, which claimed plenty of victims. The worst of which was in race 2 when a Blackthorn Aston Martin GT3 went off nose-first into the barrier.
We also had new vehicles debuting in the championship. Aston Martin Racing have their new Vantage GT3 Evo out with Beechdean AMR, and the previously mentioned GT4 Evo with Forsetti Motorsport. While Ford has the new Mustang GT4 in the hands of Academy Motorsport. There was also the return of Lotus with the Emira GT4 with Mahiki Racing.
Hopefully the next round at Silverstone for the 500 the weather will prove to be cooperative and lay off on the rain. We will be there again, to see how AMR teams get on, and capture some more images and video.
