September started with a trip to Donington Park, for the penultimate round of the 2024 British GT Championship. For once this year the rain decided to stay away, and we had a race under blue skies and warm weather.
It was the usual hunting ground in GT3 for Barwell Motorsport with the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo2 with a lights-to-flag win from pole. Blackthorn finally delivered on the promise shown by the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo taking a well-deserved second place. While Garage 59 in the Mclaren 720s GT3 Evo secured a solid third place after two hours of intense racing.
Moving on to the GT4 category, Century Motorsport stole the show with their pair of BMW M4 GT4’s taking first and third place. While team Parker was second in the Mercedes AMG GT4 after a solid performance.
We will be at the final round, which takes place at Brands Hatch at the end of September. Hopefully, the weather will hold out for another dry race to wrap up the championship.
