The 2013 World Rally Championship kicked off last weekend, with round 1 been the classic Monte-Carlo Rally. A lot has changed over the winter with in the WRC, Ford has left as a manufacturer although M-Sport has remained still running the Fiesta WRC under the banner Qatar M-Sport Ford Rally Team. There driver line up has changed significantly with Nasser Al-Attiyah, Mads Østberg, Evgeny Novikov, Thierry Neuville, and Juho Hänninen now driving for them.
Volkswagen have entered the WRC with there Polo R WRC, been driven by Sebastien Ogier, Jari-Matti Latvala, and Andreas Mikkelsen. VW have been working on this program for 2 years now with last year, Sebastien Ogier developing the new Polo R WRC into an immediate threat for the other teams.
Then there is Citroen or Citroen Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team as they are now known, Sebastien Loeb is only doing a hand full of rally’s this year which leaves it up to Mikko Hirvonen and Dani Sordo to try and continue Citroens dominance.
Prodrive will only be out on select rally’s again this year with the Mini WRC, with possible multiple drivers driving the car from event to event.
