It’s the Final lap of the Euro GT4 Series race at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, Jörg Viebahn in the Aston Martin is racing Bulgarian Rosen Deskalov in a Sin R1 for position, This is not how they expected to finish the race. Coming out of the final corner a quick right hander, the cars are side by side, the Aston Martin and Sin R1 then rub and well things just turn bad…
The Aston is launched into the air after contact with the barrier and the Sin R1 has a heavy head on impact. Amazingly and thankfully both drivers walked away from this unhurt, just some bruised ego’s and wallets. This can only be put down to the safety of modern race car and Roll Cage design, So just remember Motorsport can be dangerous.
